Cybele appears in ancient art with various objects. The crown on her veiled head symbolizes her job as a protectress of cities, the lions pulling her cart represent her control over animals, and the wheat in her right hand alludes to her role as the goddess of agriculture. Cybele's other attribute is the cymbal in her other hand; worshipers of Cybele played this instrument during her cult celebration. Art depicts Cybele as the goddess of nature.
