The Via Sacra
The above maps depict the Via Sacra, which extended from the Capitoline hill to the area of the Colosseum, in some of its stages. The Via Sacra was the main street and the widest street in the Roman forum. Many important building lined its way and many events in Roman history took place on this road. The street was so commonly frequented by many that it was even mentioned in Horace's poem that we just finished.
Some important structures along its path include:
~the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina
~The Curia (Senate House)
~The Regia (the residence of the kings and later of the pontifax maximus)
~The Basilica Aemilia
~the Domus Publica
~The Temple of Romulus
~Arch of Titus
~The Atrium Vestae and the Templum Vestae
~The Temple of Caesar
~The Basilica of Constantine
Above you can see the Atrium Vestae where the Vestal Virgins lived.
Here you can see the remains of the Basilica of Constantine
Finally, here is an image of the Basilica Aemilia

Excellent! Let me just note that some of the buildings you mention were built after Horace's day, but you can see how the Via Sacra remained a major focal point over centuries from your maps. +2
